For most classes, the only required gear is YOU! While we encourage members to have gear and engage in free-play, and a lack of gear may limit your ability to engage in some advanced drills, it is not a requirement for a member to have much in the way of specific fencing gear to participate. The only equipment you will need to provide for yourself that we cannot loan you will be a water bottle (hydration is always important!) and a protective groin cup as needed.

If you are interested in purchasing gear, we recommend members purchase at least an appropriate fencing mask, a pair of padded gloves, and a gorget. Other recommended equipment to get early in your training are hard protection for the elbows, knees, and shins.

If you have questions about the best gear for you, or already own gear that you think may be appropriate, please contact us for clarification to ensure all parties are on the same page for this topic.
